Builders and City Planners

See How FlexReady Works:

Builders and City Planners

FlexReady designs enable builders and planners to address the need for new homebuyers who can qualify with average median incomes of 60-100% in their communities (AMI).  The FlexReady team doesn’t just design homes, we focus on the entire value chain:

  • Targeting cost levels where builders can profitably support “affordable” homes
  • Creating customer value that drives the purchase of the initial home
  • Ensuring long term value with built-in expansion and rental options that increase owner equity and add additional value to the initial purchase decision.

OWN MORE THAN A HOME. OWNYOUR FUTURE.

The FlexReady team

Homeownership is the most important single factor driving strong communities and creating long-term financial security. FlexReady’s innovative designs open the door.

Our Team Will Be There To Support Throughout The Process By Providing The Following:

Initial Design

Over 30 plansets and proprietary designs provide builders with a variety of price points and architectural elements. We work closely with builders on design iterations.

  • Each design integrates proprietary connections so that expansions can be done at less than the cost of initial construction.
    • Exclusive FlexReady foundation designs
    • Patent pending waste and water line connectors
    • Integrated connections for roofing, trim, electrical, HVAC, landscaping etc.

Neighborhood/community layouts

Subdivision layouts are critical to establish the appropriate amount of housing density, greenspace, amenities and road designs that support an affordable and growing community.  The FlexReady team will work with builders and communities planners to create the best neighborhood designs.

  • The FlexReady team also partners with LEI Engineering, based in Utah, to support surveying and engineering needs.

Collaborative engagement with city planners and city councils

The FlexReady team will work to support zoning requirements and modifications that encourage affordable homes.

  • Affordable Housing Zones, Master Development Agreements and General Plan options
  • Frontages, lot sizes, setbacks, alley road designs, fire access, trash access, parking requirements, open spaces, amenities, snow removal, drainage areas etc.

Construction support

Our goal is to make developers and builders successful in providing unmatched value to new homebuyers.

  • FlexReady and its partners will provide sourcing of key systems and components such as exclusive foundation designs, panelized wall options and kitchen cabinet/island options to support affordable value targets.

New homebuyer engagement

Once the builder closes with the new buyer, the FlexReady team will be there to deliver:

  • A “FlexReady Home Certification” with all the details of the connections and design elements included in their new home (includes quality review, pictures, etc.)
  • Access to the FlexReady member website where a buyer can track costs and scheduling timing for potential expansion.
    • Note: maintaining an open and transparent site with costs and resources for expansions is critical in delivering the FlexReady value to customers and helps buyers lock in their initial purchase.
  • Customer support for 5 years after initial purchase for expansion options with the initial builder, preferred contractors or DIY options.
    • This includes free consultations with the buyer as they consider their expansion options.
This is

What We Give:

The FlexReady team gives builders and city planners the ability to bring single-family homes within reach of potential buyers who feel that high costs for homes and rents have left them unable to participate in a growing economy. Working together we can create access to new homes, build strong communities, support local employer needs with stable housing and support the dreams of those who want to grow with the market and own their own home.
